Covid-19: How This Will Affect Our Arboricultural Surveying

During these uncertain times, how one battles and manages the effects of the Coronavirus outbreak is on the top of everyone’s agenda. No business, industry or individual is left unaffected. The arboricultural, ecological and environmental industry is the same as the one you are in. The only possible difference is that we work with nature and seasonality and a lot of our work is outside. The Arboricultural Association has developed a position statement, particularly for contractors to represent the industry.

The health and well-being of individuals is the Association’s primary concern who, as you would expect, is closely monitoring and pressing for government updates and recommendations on matters that will affect their members.

The Arboricultural Association have long since recognised that many members work remotely and have a strong risk management strategy in place as a result.  In addition, as is the case for most businesses, all events, training and meetings have been postponed or cancelled until further notice.

In relation to carrying out surveys – The Arboricultural Association recommends that all activity is stopped until the foreseeable future, unless it is considered essential work to ensure the public’s safety or vital for maintenance of critical infrastructure.

Wharton’s Arboricultural team of consultants are duly following government advise, but continue to support all clients where they can, offering their advice and analysis on tree related projects in order to keep work on time and in budget.
