Deliverables:

  • Ecological Appraisal

Scope/Scale of project:

To undertake a preliminary ecological appraisal of the site and subsequently provide an impact assessment and enhancement plan to accompany the planning application.

Overview:

The Site was located adjacent to a local nature reserve in a suburban area of Birmingham. Wharton undertook an ecological appraisal of the Site and produced a habitat suitability plan with associated buffer distances from nearby ponds to demonstrate that the likely effect on great crested newts was negligible. Precautionary working measures were proposed and planning was subsequently granted.
