The opportunity

Wharton Natural Infrastructure Consultants Ltd is based in Alcester, Warwickshire with a second office in Macclesfield, Cheshire with clients across England and Wales.  This position is to work in our Alcester office.

As a result of our continued commitment and increased client base, we are looking for a topographical/measured building surveyor to undertake technical work and develop the land side of the company.  The new position is aimed at a self-motivated, individual with good communication skills who wants to both develop their career, provide ideas to the business and implement land and building surveying projects.

The role

Our topographical land and measured building survey team are the first choice for many of the leading architects, developers, building contractors & private property owners in the midlands.

Operating from our Alcester office, we service clients throughout the UK, Europe & further afield providing Digital Surveying Services including:

  • Measured Building Surveys

  • Laser Scanning and 3D Modelling

  • Survey for BIM

  • Topographic Surveys

Skills required for the position

The ideal candidate should possess:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in all aspects of measured building surveys

  • Good knowledge of operating a total station and processing data outputs

  • Competent in AutoCAD and preparing building plans, elevations and sections

  • Experience in Laser Scanning and processing of scan data

  • Degree/HND/HNC qualification in a Surveying, Architectural Technology or Construction related subject

  • Have experience of preparing fee proposals for a range of surveying services.

  • Excellent communication skills, self-motivation and be well organised

  • Willingness to work away from home on occasions

  • Ability to work accurately with attention to detail and quality

  • A full UK driving license

The following would also be advantageous:

  • Desired experience of 3D modeling in Revit, SketchUp, ArchiCAD or other software package

  • GPS Surveys

  • Engineering Surveys and Setting Out

Most importantly, be able to provide solutions to our clients.

Salary Range

£18,000 - £25,000 DOE

Closing date – 21st March 2019

Final salary and package will be based on qualification and experience. This is a position initially based on a 37 hour working week and 3 month probationary period.
