This week Forest of Hearts held a fundraising event at Stratford upon Avon Hospital in which The Garden of Wellbeing was planted.

Forest of Hearts alongside the NHS South Warwickshire Foundation Trust are hoping to provide a sustainable and productive garden that improves the wellbeing of the visitors and patients of the hospital. The produce of this garden will include vegetables, herbs and edible flowers and will be used in the hospital café! The Wharton team were delighted to be able to make a £500.00 donation to this cause and combine our efforts to complete this task.

The day began with tea, coffee and bacon butty’s at The Riverside, followed by some friendly competition between the teams; getting selfies in specific places in the town centre and meeting at Shakespeare’s School Room for a quiz. We then made our way to the hospital for more refreshments before planting our gardens which were then judged by the experts and a winner was named. Unfortunately, it was not us (it’s the taking part that counts!), but we hope that our efforts will help to provide the hospital with nutritious, organic produce to help the well-being of the locals of Stratford-upon-Avon. We were very lucky to have the company of a well-known face from the world of Harry Potter and Game of Thrones, David Bradley. David is the patron of Forest of Hearts and is a great supporter of their cause. He came along to meet with all of us and thank us for our charitable donations.

Here at Wharton, we’d like to give a special thank you to Forest of Hearts, NHS South Warwickshire Trust, and Event Cow, who together organized and carried out a brilliant morning for all involved. The team thoroughly enjoyed this experience and were so pleased to be able to help Forest of Hearts with this part of their mission!
