Spring flowers are really important for pollinators as they venture out into the spring sunshine from winter hibernation. Pollinators rely on spring flowers to provide them with the nectar and pollen that they require to give them energy.

We have listed below our favourite spring flowering plants that will provide the spring feast for pollinators.

Eranthis - Winter aconites in a sunny yellow colour.

Erica carnea - Heather is a hardy perennial.

Galanthus nivalis - single-flowered species of snowdrops.

Hamamelis virginiana - Witch hazels great colour with fragrance.

Hellebores - Great for a shady spot under a tree.

Mahonia x media ‘Charity’ or ‘Winter Sun’ - Grow anywhere! Great for shady spots.

Primula vulgaris - Primrose semi-evergreen perennial with delicate flowers.

Salix caprea - Covered in catkins during spring. Great for bees.
